Mason at the doctor
Mason and I went to the foot doctor yesterday. The doctor asked Mason how old he was. Mason responded in Chinese, refusing to speak English! What have we started??
Our journey to adopt our little girl from China!
“Each day on our journey we move closer to bringing our child home”

How exciting is this?! We went to Sesame Place a few weeks ago, and met a mother and her three children from Hong Kong. We eavesdropped as they spoke, and understood a few words! Then the other night Sean and I watched some crazy Chinese comedy and every once in awhile understood a few more words! It definitely gives us the push to keep learning.
Every month we will get an update from our agency as to where our dossier is in the process. Currently, we are "pending translation." This means what is says- we are waiting to enter the translation stage where our dossier is translated from English to Chinese. It's the first stop on a very long road, I know. However, we are finally on the board! Woohoo!!!
July 14, 2006 is our official LID! We found out yesterday, so are already 19 days into our official wait. Yoohoo!!! The LID is when the CCAA (China Center of Adoption Affairs) officially logs your dossier into their system. So when referrals are announced for a period of time covering July 14, 2006, we will be in that batch and about to meet (via paper) our little girl! It's such a relief to have that date. Currently, referrals have been issued through July 13, 2005, so the wait is over the 12 month mark at this point. This can go up or down (most likely it will get longer before it gets shorter), but it WILL happen.
